Another year of shows completed. The shows were exciting, educational, exhausting, engaging, and the resulting adventures inspiring. A show in Pasadena, California brought my first experience at exhibiting at a predominately and unembarrassed "buy/sell" show. Although it was advertised as a "Contemporary Fine Craft Show". There was a booth that blatantly forgot to cut off the "made in China" tags. Is it the sign of the times for Fine Craft and traditional craftsmanship? There was a vendor -I won't call her an artist or craftswomen--who had FIVE booths of clothing--it would take a village!! I won't be applying to that one again!! A few highlights of the year- Cherry Creek was wonderful. Colorado is my hearts home and I always love being back in the mountains. After the show we spent a couple of days at a hot springs to refresh and regroup. Ft Worth was beyond any expectations! I won a Merit Award and it will be my first 2017 show-April 21st! Keep looking back as I fill in 2017 show calendar.
As for the West Texas Organic cotton-both the 8/2 and 10/2 is available. It is so soft and weaves wonderful fabric. Many weavers have bought the 8/2 for dish towels and baby wraps. The 10/2 makes great scarves, shawls and yardage. Contact me if interested in purchasing some. It is $30 a pound plus shipping.
